Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE) – T3 staff Lee Rand, P.E. receives PTOE Certification

 T3 Design’s cohort of Professional Traffic Operations Engineers is now at 7, with Lee being the latest P.E. to obtain this certification. Receiving the PTOE certification is a strong demonstration of knowledge, skills, and ability in traffic operations engineering, and an investment in one’s professional career.

To obtain this certification engineers must have four years of applicable experience and hold a valid P.E. license.  

A PTOE possesses technical competence in:

  • traffic operations analysis;

  • operational effects of geometric designs;

  • traffic safety;

  • traffic control devices;

  • traffic engineering studies, or;

  • social, environmental, and institutional issues in traffic operations practice.

Road Safety Professionals – T3 staff Amy Morris and Asma Ali Achieve Level 1 RSP Certification

T3 Design’s Amy Morris, P.E. and Asma Ali, P.E. are among the first year’s cohort of certified Road Safety Professionals. In October 2018, the Transportation Professional Certification Board (TPCB) developed a new certification: Road Safety Professional (RSP). The RSP certification has the following goals:

  • Recognize safety as a profession

  • Establish a recognized level of practice and knowledge

  • Incentivize safety education

Level 1 of this certification is indicated as “RSP1,” and it demonstrates that the holder meets competency requirements to provide for the safety of the traveling public. The certification was developed as a step forward in safety initiatives, such as Toward Zero Deaths and Vision Zero. Since 2018, 377 professionals have passed the examination and received the RSP1 certification.

T3 is dedicated to serving our community. Safety is a core value for our firm, because it ensures the health and welfare of the larger community. For pursuing industry recognition of their safety focus, T3 congratulates Amy and Asma for their achievements!

Congratulations to Eduardo Pineda for becoming a P.E.

Eduardo Pineda is another young engineer at T3 Design Corporation, who added P.E. to his signature. Becoming licensed is one of the greatest milestones for engineers and Ed is now proud to receive his professional engineering license and join the P.E. Community.

Ed received a Bachelor of Science Degree from George Mason University in 2016 and has been at T3 Design since March 2017. He works with our design team and is becoming our lighting design expert in addition to being one of the top traffic signal designers.
