Cerasela Cristei, P.E., and Ryan McCreedy, P.E., Elected to Board of American Society of Highway Engineers – Potomac Section

T3 Design is a fervent supporter of the Potomac Section of ASHE as it has been on the list of Gold Member Sponsors for numerous years and has participated in monthly meetings. Recently, T3 staff members have been elected on the Board: Cerasela Cristei, P.E., as President and Member of the Executive Board and Ryan McCreedy, P.E., as Director.

This is another way T3 Design gives back to the community. Its employees dedicate some of their time and their skills to support ASHE Potomac mission: “…to provide a forum for members and partners of the highway industry to promote a safe, efficient and sustainable highway system through education, innovation and fellowship.”

Cerasela Cristei, P.E., receives President’s Award from American Society of Highway Engineers – Potomac Section

At the American Society of Highway Engineers (ASHE) Potomac Section dinner held on May 17, 2017, T3 Senior Engineer, Cerasela M. Cristei, P.E., was presented with the President’s Award for her service to the organization over the past year. This award was presented by outgoing president, Anis Shaikh, to Cerasela in recognition and appreciation for her dedication in supporting the Potomac Section while she served as first vice president. Executive positions are voluntary, and Cerasela will now assume the role of president for the next one-year term.

The President’s Award is granted annually at the discretion of the ASHE president and is intended to reward exceptional effort on behalf of the association. Cerasela’s tireless efforts to support ASHE involve a significant investment of her personal time to organize event guest speakers, help coordinate the golf tournament, find volunteers to help run the scholarship program, inspire students to join the monthly meetings, write articles for the newsletter and support the president in a myriad of other activities required to fulfill the mission of the organization and continue to serve our industry. Cerasela’s knack for cheerfully completing a long list of tasks that require constant energy and follow up make her a natural selection for this award.

T3 Design - Presentation at Mid Colonial Annual Conference

Conglong (Vicky) Yu, a senior traffic engineer and project manager for T3, conducted a presentation on April 25, 2017, at the ITE Mid-Colonial Annual Conference held in Baltimore, Maryland. As part of the technical program devoted to Diverging Diamond Interchange (DDI) projects, Vicky shared her experience and insights in managing the traffic effort for the I-66/US Route 15 DDI Project in Haymarket, Virginia. This VDOT design-build project was awarded to The Lane Construction Corporation, with Rinker Design Associates, PC as the lead design firm and T3 performing traffic analysis and signal design activities as a subconsultant.

Vicky described the modeling and analysis completed by the T3 team to show the safety and operational benefits of a DDI at this location, compared to the previously preferred alternative, and she demonstrated its ultimate configuration via an animated video created by T3. She also outlined the activities completed, project progress and schedule, as well as remaining construction and expected completion date.
